It's been less than a week since her husband filed for divorce, but Katy Perry still plans on putting on a brave face and facing the music, as it were.
The 27-year-old singer is slated to make her first public appearance since Russell Brand announced the couple's marriage was over last Friday.
The pop star is still planning on attending the People's choice Awards on January 11.

The I Kissed A Girl singer hasn't spoken about her split, which occurred over the holidays, but she is expected to make many public appearances in the upcoming months.
She is also meant to attend the Grammy's on February 12, where she has been nominated for Record of the Year and Best Pop Solo Performance of the Year.
The brunette bombshell is incredibly brave for attempting to confront her pain, given how raw she must be feeling at the moment.
According to Us Weekly, she and Brand, 36, were on a break over the holidays, and he blindsided her by filing for divorce.
'The plan was for Katy and Russell to have the holidays apart, then see if they wanted to go through with a separation,' a source told the magazine.

Instead, the singer was shocked to find a flurry of emails and phone calls announcing that her husband of 14 months had gone behind her back and reneged on their agreement.
He filed papers on December 30 citing irreconcilable differences.
He released a statement reading: 'Sadly, Katy and I are ending our marriage. I'll always adore her and I know we'll remain friends.'
That may not be the case, as a family friend tells the magazine that 'Katy is devastated. She was brought up with the belief marriage is forever and feels she failed.'

The singer was too wholesome for the British comedian, who not only has a dark side, but has been to rehab for sex addiction, as well.
The insider says: 'There's a difference between the real Katy and the Katy she puts on. In her heart, she's a good Christian girl.'

She also wasn't ready to start a family because of their 10 year age difference, which reportedly infuriated her husband.
'Russell feels there's no point being married if you don't have kids,' the friend said.

It is, ironically, Rihanna who is meant to be helping her pal heal: the two are supposedly about to take a quick girls trip to Mexico together.
